Guess What?

After years in the ambulance, in 911 dispatch, and in the classroom,

WE were the ones who learned something...

Able Rescue was born out of years working in EMS responding to emergencies, in 911 dispatch walking people through emergencies, and in the classroom teaching first aid about emergencies.

As we listened to people share their real experiences, fears and concerns we learned two things.

Over and over again.

Workplaces

Employers train staff in first aid, but maintaining supplies and ensuring AEDs are always ready often falls through the cracks.  We often heard “I think our kit needs stuff but don't know what” and  “I'm not sure who is formally in charge”.  Not that employers want it that way, it's just

one more thing to do.

The Public

Statistics show when first aid is needed it's usually on a family member or friend.  This leaves people who don't have workplace training unprepared for emergencies like heart attacks or strokes. With a little knowledge anyone can make a big difference.

Able Rescue exists to fill these gaps:

  • People, who aren't required to have a first aid certificate, should be able to help someone in a life threatening situation.

  • Worksites, who are required to meet Occupational Health and Safety requirements, should have a simple way be compliant.

We are creating solutions.  Maintenance plans ensure workplaces meet requirements without stressing. Training and events give everyday people the confidence to act, in as little as an hour.

At work or anywhere else, we are here to help.

Working in nursing has taught me that being prepared ahead of time is the most important part of handling emergencies.  People are people and the basics don't change no matter what setting you are in.

You can totally do this - I will show you how!

After working in long term care, caring for my own aging family and friends, and teaching first aid.... I get it.

We are all just real humans trying to do good stuff in sometimes crazy situations.  Helping people NOT stress is my jam.  Leave your being nervous at the door, you're going to do awesome!
